TBF those previews were really stretched out.  Prime Saturday + 3D on Wed + Thur started at 5pm (with lots of schools out) . 

 

It's a U.S. "opening weekend"  to almost rival some of those UK ow that last a week (sometimes two)

14M true Friday after 9M from Thursday night isn’t exactly how you want things to go. 65M “3-day” seems a real possibility then, which could lead to as low as 220M or so.  Still, early days.

Holiday or not, people usually go to see the movies they want to see and are willing to pay money for. In other words, if the GA demand for the movies this december is just not that big, the numbers wont necessarily be great despite the time of the year.
