Production budget listed is irrelevant cos it was made by Weinstein who have gone bust. The actual distributor (STX?) Paid like $10M for it. So $100M gross is a metric ton of profit.

That’s a fair point.

 

Though there’s always a potential for the sequel to be even better. Fix several of the mistakes that the first one had: improve certain things, more clever humour and the sequel might be superior. Who knows?

I really want to see it again in the cinema. If it stood any chance of Oscar wins then it might go back in more cinemas soon but sadly that ship has sailed.

Happy Death Day 2U is the infamous sequel that nobody asked for. It might be good for all I know but the audience wasn't there. Somebody get Jessica Rothe some dramas and a superhero movie or something, she's terrific.

Its a film to which no one wanted or asked for a sequel. and the sequel was so crap I walked out of the cinema half way through.
