The Cheetah Girls: Animated.

$1B previews.

To reiterate I don't blame Disney for rebooting it's franchises or the position it's in, any other studio with that ability would do the same thing. I just find it frustrating that new originals (Note i use the term original loosely) have a harder time breathing nowadays in comparison to say superhero films or live action remakes.

In fairness Disney has been making the occasional big-budget movie not based on one of their IPs in recent years. Problem is that they've all been mediocre despite having top-notch talent both in front and behind the camera and thus flopped.

They’re gonna make a Star Wars animated movie instead starring Harrison Ford. Instead of live action remakes....they’ll be animated action remakes :stormtrooper:

Oh, so you've heard of Galaxy of Adventures then, have you?

Spoiler

Re imagining things for small kids in 2 to 3 minute bite sized chunks isn't remotely the same thing, of course. :)

They also still got FF4 and XMEN to churn out. They will be swimming with money for the next 10 years and keep dominating the box office industry with all their subs.

You all need to relax...the money is getting spread around, at least domestically...here's the current top 10, all over $100M DOM...Disney will have only 4 of the top 12 after this weekend (since JW3 is also going $100M after this weekend)...so, while it seems like total dominance b/c their supers go so big, there has been room for everyone to get along...and the Disney supers in 2020 won't touch the top 2 of this year, I don't think...

Wow you being toxic back sure showed them. Nice job spreading the circle of toxicity around by trashing a bunch of franchises in that post. Also I didn't get a chance to see the original post, I saw yours first so I commented on yours.

You're being far too thin skinned about your favorite franchise.

I didn't trash them.  I like quite a few of those franchises.  But they aren't original movies or IPs and stating that Disney is the reason other studios are making movies like ID4 is silly.   It's an industry wide practice and has been for a long long time.

All I want is great opening with lengthy legs from 2010-2013 to be back, rather than huge opener with puny legs.

Unfortunately, that's not a studio thing more of a Audience/people thing. People are more inclined to follow a trend and get rid of it quickly. more like how fashion evolved into fast fashion. People like to live in the moment and unfortunately that's also true for the brands/ things they do in their lives.

Does any none Disney have even what it takes top Captain Marvel's 425m?

The thing about Disney, when they do come out with original stuff it comes off like they're still doing franchise filmmaking. I wish they would one-off comedies or dramas like other studios. Just one-off movies.

Yeah then just say that. It's ironic to be calling me thin skinned when Disney hate is obviously bothering you. I think it's a silly line of thought myself. Also I don't think making it sound like there's too many of quite a few isn't trashing.

Disney, outside of supers, won't be topping Capt Marvel's $425M...Aladdin isn't doing it...and it's still TBD if the Lion King or Frozen or Toy Story 4 will do so:)...specific family movie money is a little tough this year...

PS - Okay, I think Star Wars will...but even then, don't make me say 100%:)...

Agreed. I am glad they are at least trying. Hell I hope Jungle Cruise and Artemis Fowl break the cycle.

I'm not saying to not root for Disney as they're helping keep theaters alive, and most of their films are pretty good. Zootopia, IO, Coco, The Last Jedi, IW/Endgame and Black Panther are some of the best blockbusters this decade. I'm somewhat excited for Aladdin and taking my little cousin to see it, and people should be feel to like what they like. I'm just saying at the end of the day, take a look at all sides.

That's what Touchstone was for before they more or less dismantled it near the beginning of this decade.
