Interestingly, Disney was one of the only major companies last year whose shareholders actually voted NOT to give the CEO a raise. Kinda funny considering they sent out the voting envelopes with a special message they DEFINITELY RECOMMEND VOTING YES

That Disney shareholder votes for CEO Iger's pay is merely advisory. The board just wanted to know where the wind is blowing. They later changed Iger's contract and how he will be paid. It will still be a massive payment but not as huge as his pay in the previous contract. And the shareholders, in another advisory vote, narrowly approved Iger's new pay.

It's good that Iger's pay raise didn't get approved. CEO's of huge companies do not need raises. They are already more than well compensated for the work they do. The wealth needs to be spread, not horded.

Yesterday is going to be right around 36M after this weekend. Probably over 45M by next weekend. 

 

AE looks like it should be in the 2.8-3.0 range for the weekend. 

 

Stuber and Crawl will take theaters from movies below the Top 7, but I doubt they have any impact on the Top 7. I don't expect either to do well.

Well, that's not exactly true either. Marvel Studios has everything to do with with developing the stories and live action Tom Holland Spidey films.

I wonder how they will do the big Phase collection with the Sony movies. I got Phase 1 and 2 via those Blu-Ray sets, and obviously I'd like Phase 3 to complete it, but how will they manage distribution with both Disney and Sony movies?

If there was ever one company where there might be enough to go around, it’s Disney.

The thing about Holland's performance is that he not only nails the Spider-man stuff but he really embodies the ethos and spirit of a high school kid.  He's nervous around girls, he's intimidated by stark and he just has the nervous, nerdy, geeky thing right down to a science.  It takes a really good actor to do what he is doing with the character and it's the kind of performance that should be recognized.  It's kind of like RDJ, he was unfarily overlooked for his portrayal of Stark.  Too bad the academy is so set in their ways.

As for FFH's numbers, they aren't really all that surprising.  We've never had a Tuesday opener during the 4th of july week, so seeing the numbers they are is not surprising.

doom and gloom happened in TS4 ow with a sub-105/sub-110 scare. it eventually crossed 120, well over summer game average.

then 2nd weekend was looking at 55 early Fri but ended up 60.
