Kingdom of the Planet Of The Apes | May 10, 2024 | Wes Ball to develop and direct

Recommended Posts

Funny to think that about 15 years ago when it was announced that Planet of the Apes was being rebooted (when the stench of the major disappointment from the 2001 remake was still strong) everyone assumed it wouldn't amount to anything but a cynical cash grab. How right it feels to be proven wrong sometimes.

62 on Metacritic with 13 reviews

5 positive, 7 mixed

That’s not that great at this stage.

Edit: Up to 67 now, so much improved and more in line with RT reviews now.

Wow, so it isn't actually secretly bad and all the reactions and evidence weren't some sort of conspiracy theory? Shocker!

It’s weird to be preemptively negative about a franchise as consistent and inoffensive as Apes. There were even people declaring it’s a “critics love it, GA doesn’t” film which has never really been true for this franchise.

The Apes movie has been consistently great since the reboot since Rise. Not surprised that this film continues the streak.

Not sure how box office for this will be though, trailers seem kind of confusing of the timeline of when this is taking place; I genuinely hope it is just me and that it does extremely well worldwide.

Zelda fans we're LIVING today! Great news that this is just as good if not better than Rise.

I have nothing against Bell being involved, but I still think live action is the wrong way to go for a Zelda movie.

Probably! But it needed to be vast and an adventure film and seems like he's shown he can pull that off.

SO happy to be wrong on this one. Lol at Disney managing their fox IP substantially better than their home-grown IP tho
