Weekend Thread: Actuals - Invisible Man 28.2, Sonic 16.26, Call of the Wild 13.36

Recommended Posts

Have to say, Grace Randolph movie math is atleast watchable now.

Earlier she used to distort fact as per her own wish.

I still remember how she spinned BvS 69% drop as CBM fatigie.

@MCKillswitch123 The Gentleman explodes into the top spot with a great opening for PRIS Audiovisuais. For comparison, Knives Out sold ~17.000 tickets on opening weekend, while Bombshell opened just above 20.000 tickets sold (both were also released by PRIS Audiovisuais).

Sonic and The Call of the Wild nearly flat from last weekend. 1917, Bad Boys and Parasite continue to have terrific holds every weekend.

Acceptable opening for The Boy II, while Like a Boss pretty much bombed. Not sure what to say about Onward's full day previews on Saturday. The night shows were empty so I guess the afternoon shows were decent. Still not sure how it translates to OW.

She and John Campea are the only two folks I bother watching anymore.

Campea doesn't know anything about box office.

Actually, he just know how to whine and complain.

I watched some of his videos and cringed hard.

Charting with Dan is actually good. Not perfect but atleast he knows a lot about what he is talking.

Campea has little clue about box office. When it comes to movie talk and knowledge his pretty decent.

As for him complaining most of the time it's understandable with exception of the few times

Grace Randolph can be irritating esp with her bias and some hot takes( BVS, Charlie's angels etc)

But what I really like about her is how she is quick at getting inside scoop on major movie headlines even before the reliable outlets. Not saying she is correct all the time but she definitely has some good sources within the industry.

Charting with Dan is also fine .

So Call of the Wild is set to lose $50m and Dolittle $100m.

Variety comments on Disney/Fox after losing money with Underwater and Spies in Disguise. They’re on a bit of a roll it seems.

Interesting that they mentioned the Doolittle budget as $150M in Jan...although I'm pretty sure Dolittle WW has gone over that Jan Variety projection, and is probably losing money on par with CoTW, especially if the budget was lower (no idea where Variety got their info - maybe RDJ gets less money if it makes less money:)...

The budget for Dolittle is $175-200m+

Right, some places have $175M...but it's interesting that Variety through Telegraph (not a crap outlet) sourced it at $150M...thus, why I mentioned RDJ's contract b/c he's been known to get compensation deals related to box office:)...

Call of the Wild has a $125 million production budget? What were they thinking?

Chaos Walking is 100% flop and considering the director Uncharted seems like flop as well.

Not surprised at all, most of the MCU actors never work outside Marvel.

this applies to most actors anyway
