If the holiday is today, why would that effect yesterday's numbers? Also, disappointing that Eternals still dropped 20% while everything else went up slightly.

Well, you can go to see the big red dog with the kids in the evening without worrying to do homework or other stuff for tomorrow (today), go see Eternals, Dune or other movies, or get wasted, if you have free. Late evening shows should especially get a bump, I guess.

I actually just looked at the sales for Clifford around here and the afternoon shows are nearly selling out in some of the biggest auditoriums (it switches with Eternals for more medium-sized ones at night). Yeah, no way it's not increasing at least 100% today, most likely more than that.

100% increase from true Wed would be 3.5M

its similar to boost movies get on friday. Its not a holiday but movies still increase.

On Eternals its in his OW. Cannot compare it to movies in their late run. On a normal week, Eternals would have dropped harder. But it will also benefit more today/tomorrow. Let us see how things go.

Dr strange actually managed to do it in opening week . It increased 18.4% on the eve of veteran's day.

More importantly it had veterans eve on Thursday, so the daily change was vs Wed rather than Tues. Eternals would have increased Th from Wed if Veteran’s was Fri — though less than DS 18%, probably single digits.

Friday AM Update: Disney’s Eternals led the Veterans Day box office with a $6.3M take, the highest haul during its weekdays, +47% from Wednesday and sending its first week tally to $91.3M. As we mentioned the Gemma Chan, Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, Richard Madden, and Salma Hayek ensemble is expected to maintain its lock on first place in its second weekend, earning $25M-$28.5M. Other movies also saw boosts in the top 10 with close to half of all K-12 schools being off for the holiday.

Paramount’s Clifford the Big Red Dog rose 43% yesterday over its opening day Wednesday with $3.28M at 3,407 theaters in 2nd place. The kid pic’s two day total stands at $5.58M. The movie, which is also available on Paramount+ in homes, is still on track for a 5-day of $15M-$17M.

Warner Bros./Legendary’s Dune raises its running cume to $87.6M, after a $1.2M Veterans Day haul, +45% over Wednesday.

UAR/MGM’s No Time to Die made $995K yesterday, +50% over Wednesday, for a running total through five weeks of $145.8M. The final James Bond movie with Daniel Craig was made available on PVOD on Tuesday.

Sony’s Venom Let There Be Carnage grossed an estimated $700K, +86%, for a six-week running domestic total of $198.7M.

Not bad at all for Venom 2. All things considered, this is a very good overall performance. The first one earned 213 million at the box office. This one will also pass 200 million and will not be far behind the first in total North American box office.

With Thanksgiving coming and possible double features coming . This could really come close to the originals total or slightly more . It made 4.5m last weekend which is pretty good
