I think @Shawn meant to post it here, so...here you go.

Ahhh, yep. I misread the weekday vs. weekend thread title. My brain must be fried from all the cocaine... bear.

Also, Ava2 around $950k at the moment.

(Edited, $950K rather than $900K)

Feel free to check my math but if that $7.8M number holds for ANT-MAN and it matches UNCHARTED's 2nd weekend multiplier last year it comes in at $30.1M.

lets all work together to get a number that starts with 7 as the percentage drop

It won't have Uncharted's modifier...

Heck, at $7.8M, if that holds, it's definitely a sub-$30M weekend.  But, it's early, and bored 14-25 year olds with movie passes could still prop up the movie, especially if they are shut out of Cocaine Bear, which doesn't have enough showings around here...

I’m not so sure about that? Everything both last year and in 2020 (excluding new releases) was +65% or better for the post Pres-Day Sat, which is roughly a 3.7x Fri, and while we’re not likely to see a >100% Sat like NWH much further into the run, a +80% would be about the same as Uncharted (~4x)

‘Quantumania’ Warps To $30M, ‘Cocaine Bear’ High On $20M, ‘Jesus Revolution’ Praises $13M+ – Friday Midday Box Office

FRIDAY PM: Oh, no, those tepid audience exits and B CinemaScore are impacting the second weekend of Disney/Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania which is currently seeing an OMG -71% drop with a $30M second FSS and a $7.8M second Friday -83%. If that estimate holds, it’s a worse than Thor: Love and Thunder‘s -68% second weekend and Eternals’ -62%. Running total by Sunday EOD would be $165.3M.

Meanwhile, Universal’s Cocaine Bear is feasting on $8.1M today at 3,534 theaters for what looks to be a $20M opening. Very, very good. Let’s hope nobody gets too grossed out by all those body parts between Friday and Saturday. The movie is reunion of sorts for The Americans cast with Matthew Rhys, Margo Martindale and Keri Russell.

Lionsgate’s Jesus Revolution which has 100% on Rotten Tomatoes’ audience score is looking at $6.6M today (including $3.3M previews) is looking at a very good $13.5M at 2,475. Does the distributor have another I Can Only Imagine on their hands? Jon Erwin co-directed both movies. That movie opened to $17.1M and legged out to 4.8 multiple of $83.4M stateside. Jesus Revolution’s 2 day gross saw AMC leading (26%), Regal not far behind in ticketsales with 23% with Cinemark third at 18%.

20th Century Studio/Disney/Lightstorm’s Avatar: The Way of Water booked at 2,495 theaters is seeing a 11th Friday of $938K (-32%), and weekend of $4.25M, -47% and a running total of $664.8M.

Uni/DreamWorks Animation’s tenth Friday of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish at 2,840 sites is eyeing $850K, for a 3-day of $3.9M, -27%, and running total of $173.2M.
