Well, compared to other markets Sacramento def looks to be on the hot side.  Sold very well today for the Early Access and even the Tuesday showtimes didn't take much of a hit.  Gonna be curious to see Sunday sales as WOM gets around town/decent chunk of demand burnt off.

Aside from that, not many thoughts.  Besides noting that the comps could be (much) better, but watcha gonna do? Continue to think about it.  Maybe.  Is a Q&D after all. 🙂

You have Encanto comps?

its not the number that makes you go WOW but for a family flick without any built in fanbase this is a solid start for sure. Good show allocation as well early on.

Minneapolis-St. Paul Area Previews:

The Boy and the Heron (T-18):

Wednesday EA: 8 theaters 8 138 138 1657 8.33
Monday IMAX EA: 3 theaters 3 96 96 811 11.84
TOTALS: 36 339 339 5550 6.11

Thursday comps:

0.85x Godzilla Minus One: ?? (using average from earlier update= $1.2 Million)

0.35x Killers of the Flower Moon: $915k

0.24x MI7: $1.68 Million

EA Comps:

0.87x Godzilla Minus One EA: ??

Been meaning to get to this one in a while. I'll add TMNT and MI7 EA comps next update. I see this behaving as an awards movie way more than as a kids movie so the only animated comp I will add is probably TMNT, since that had a very similar format of sneaks + EA one and three days before.

Previews - 19261/256931 338149.55 1581 shows

Wednesday - 14537/328501 246985.37 2151 shows

Release is so far not that big and its previews are on discount tuesday. Its not comparable to something like MI7 which sold 81K+ at similar point. I think mid 20s by opening Sunday is good for this movie.

Previews(T-2) - 23337/257718 403891.91 1587 shows +4076

Friday - 18341/329064 307624.73 2155 shows +3804

For T-2 its just ok.

:( I just don't get it. All the trackers have it around 2, and sales around me look good. To be clear, I believe you, but it sucks.

I just mentioned that its pace for T-2 is bit anemic. It still can do 2m previews. I have to look at Gucci for comps.

Gucci finished at 29364/97809 442090.38 755 shows for 1.3m previews. So its possible for Napoleon to hit 2m+ previews. Let us see how things go on tuesday.

Wednesday - 17766/612013 244211.10 3770 shows

Another movie headed somewhere around Trolls previews. Probably lower with early shows. But let us see how Wednesday presales goes.

Wish MTC1

Previews(T-2) - 16071/378727 242240.73 2458 shows +1733

Wednesday -  21697/611783 297386.43 3773 shows +3931

Now I feel better about Napoleon pace :-) it will be all about walkups for this one. Encanto sold 32240 for 1.5m previews. I am not sure this will play exactly like Encanto. I would think that would play more "diverse" than the Wish.

Weird. Wonder why it’s doing so poorly at MTC-1 compared to the regional markets all generally hitting $2M+ adjusted

What was T-2 and T-1 like for Encanto if you have the data available?

Clay, I’ve told you and everybody else this a million times: audiences are the least demanding they have ever been and only want to watch nostalgic toy commercials. How many times do we have to do this song and dance before this is understood? Honestly.

I've never agreed with you on this but having two of the most annoying people on here give you the "Knock it off" reaction makes me want to change my entire viewpoint and agree with you.

It's not even on sale yet, how can there be PS data.

Not likely to start for another five or so hours.  Probably around 6am Eastern.

And given what we expect for initial interest there really shouldn't be any meaningful numbers for at least another 12 to 14 hours from now.  Probably closer to 18 hours from now (6pm Pacific).

Oh sorry, it's just that showtimes have already been starting to pop-up so I was just wondering
