I doubt Disney had anything to do with the date shuffling or post-production of this on account of the fact that it is staight-up illegal. They ain't gonna risk a 50B dollar deal on one little Marvel movie.

Fox must really hate what they're seeing of this. This is now 16 months after its original release date and almost two years after it began promotion.

Fox: “TOG IS STANNING.  ABORT.  PUSH IT BACK 6 MONTHS”

I'm honestly expecting the final product to look nothing like the movie they began promoting last fall in the end.

My local Cineworld has a promo playing right now that has “See these great movies soon at your local Cineworld” and The New Mutants is listed.

But how long would reshooting take? The new Halloween movie shot in January -Feb this year for a October release date. I can’t imagine reshooting would take this amount of time.

They want to make sure they get the movie right so they're starting over from scratch instead of having another Fantastic Four. They probably could have still released it next February but since they moved Dark Phoenix to that date, they pushed New Mutants back.
