General box office reporting in China contains both 综合 (with fees) and 分账 (without). It’s only in English that reporting failed to understand the changes.

I meant here at BOT. Olive wrote sometime back ~ now with fees and since then they are included in the posts and discussions here. I think it might confusing the only-visiting-from-time-to-time or newbe reader if the system is not used constantly.

If y’all are gonna get super technical about exchange rates and how it looks in Disney’s books, why not go all the way? The official gross that Disney will eventually report (and should be reported elsewhere) will exclude the ticketing fees that aren’t calculated in their revenue share at all. That means opening weekend was ¥1.19309B = $187.6M.

This is not delving into too technical side of things. Of course, to compare apple-to-apple with other territories, we need to have everything gross (with fees).

Usually it does not matter if we use the midpoint exchange rate or the company/producers' exchange rate - except in this case, it matters because it's at the $200m threshold.

I don't really care whether IW got $199.7m or $200.4m, but it's a good lesson about how boxoffice dollars are being counted - so that's why it's a good discussion point.

Should be about 325-365, with late legs slightly complicated by less competition than a lot of comps. Won’t go any narrower than that until we have a sense of the 2nd weekend.

PS tracking a 30%+ bump for tomorrow

should hit $300m on sunday, $315-317m on Thur for a $65m+ week, -74% WoW. At least $30m more will happen with 66% drops the following weeks

Today's midpoint should be 4-4:15PM.

Which means 52-53M Thu.

isn't that a huge drop for Thu :kitschjob:

bad timing for 335-340 is locked post above this.

edit: calculated from 81 accidentally.

$6m OD and $36m total, could be 5m and 25m in the low end or 7m and 50m or even more in the high end

Any hope AQP does better than Solo? My most anticipated boxoffice number is Ranger's embarrassment in China.

Just curious, why does everyone take pleasure in Star Wars not doing well in China?

Its a rare failure on the part of Disney.

I think its more around the efforts such as changing the name to Ranger Solo lol.
