RobinHood26
Surprised no one has posted the greatest trailer ever made.
vc2002
Going back for some older ones: - directed by Stan Winston, I remember this bringing the house down WOW what a shame I forgot this one. This is a brillient trailer because it's not a typical trailer. It got nothing from the actual film. Whoever came up with the idea deserved a big thumb up. Robertron
Avatar Trailer #2 is amazing. I would be in a cinema at work, and when this trailer came on, the entire cinema would go silent and watch - it was quite the site. ChD
For me, Cloud Atlas is the greatest trailer there can ever be. The music, the cinematography, the narration, the story... Amazing. I still watch it every day, even though I've seen the movie for three times now... Today I decided to watch it again very soon .
Heretic
Tell me 1:49 onwards isn't one of the most exhilarating pieces of marketing you've ever seen.
Anne Boleyn
A lot of my favourites have already been mentioned (my top picks being The Dark Knight and Cloverfield campaigns), but a couple that instantly spring to mind were made for two different epic fantasy films, both looking to be the successors to the Lord of the Rings, both based on seminal pieces of children's literature, both of the trailers sent my pulse rate soaring, and both films ended up sucking major balls to varying degrees of suckiness. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntDg19AeK20 I'm still particularly bitter about how much they royally cocked up The Golden Compass; I'm holding out hope someone else will tackle it in my lifetime. Webslinger
Unless I just have selective vision and missed it, I'm surprised that no one mentioned Independence Day. Not only are the trailers cool, but they had enormous cultural impact. It's true that "original" movies (I use that word very loosely because, well, it's Independence Day; it's not exactly an inventive movie) reached blockbuster status more often in the '90s, but it was the brilliant cutting of the trailers and the now arguably iconic image of a huge alien ship blowing up the White House that made this movie the event of 1996.

Jared Miller
I rather liked the STID trailer #1. The music, Greenwood's voice "There's greatness in you..." while showing clips of Kirk and the crew, then Benedict's sinister voice leads into the dissonant music over the clips of destruction... Then that last line "Is there anything you would not do for your family?" I was SO sold on this film once I saw this trailer, and thankfully it didn't disappoint! (For me) I also really liked this Prometheus trailer, though the film itself was pretty rotten. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmJOO6D5RvA Other awesome trailers: The Deathly Hallows (trailer for both parts), the final Man of Steel trailer, all Lord of the Rings trailers, Inception, and Spiderman 2 Edited June 8, 2013 by jaredm2012

K1stpierre
I'd have to say the Alien trailer, back in 79. That trailer just is perfect. I love the music, even the beginning on how quiet it starts out and slowly you hear that creepy music come to life. The pace it just awesome. That trailer can scare anyone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEVY_lonKf4
