A lot of colleges have finals this weekend so the college age group will not be coming out this weekend. I went at midnight and it was almost entirely high school age or younger. Word of mouth will be great for this

I finished finals on the 12th so I was able to see this at 10:00 last night. Most of the people were my age...teens/young twenties. But this series has a huge fanbase of older fans which bodes well for a Friday above 45M.....

Amazing how that tracks almost perfectly with what rallax reported last night.

It was bound to happen sometime!Of course, it finally happens on what I hope is my final weekend at this theater.

Came in here to say this. Also, another point, I don't see any 2D/3D splits anywhere, but it looks like the 3D share will be on the lower end.

No if it got an I Am Legend multiplier off 80, that would be 263m total. I Am Legend's WOM was pretty average too.

"I am Legend" is not the typical christmas family movie. It actually had a decent multiplier for its genre, but "The Hobbit" is more like a Narnia-movie i would guess. And "The Hobbit" really has no holiday competition, so...That midnight number ist amazing and "The Hobbit" is on track to crush december record. Nothing to be disappointed about.

After looking how Autumn / Winter films do in midnights / OD, 36M is the lowest end TH1 can gross.Paranormal Activity saga, very midnight frontloaded, had at least an OD of 3x midnight. That's the worst case scenario.I'm guessing friday will be well above 40M. So 100M OW is almost locked at this point.
