baumer
I don't want to get silly here, but could Gatsby hit 60 this weekend? What would it have to do today? 20-25 mill?

redfirebird2008
If Gatsby opens above $50m or more, that might take enough demand away from IM3 to keep it from hitting $70m.

Heretic
That doesn't look possible to me. 30% drop on Saturday? Rush factor will assure a drop on Saturday. Also, minus midnights, it'd only be around a 20% drop.
filmnerdjamie
If anything, this is indicative of what to expect this summer. Solid grosses. God knows how well Star Trek Into Darkness does next weekend. Edited May 10, 2013 by filmnerdjamie

The Notebook dropped 12% on Saturday. Titanic went up 25%.
narniadis
Awesome Gatsby number - probably wont get to see it till tomorrow but I'm all for good numbers at te box office. Meh on IM3 though. I think at this point we should be used to Thursday falls as later evening shows are impacted by the 9pm start times for the new movies, more so than midnights ever impacted them.
