The problem though is that every trailer won't get placement in front of Star Wars (apart from Disney's designated trailers), and each trailer gets a much shorter window of being spoken about as opposed to releasing the trailers on their own schedule. For example, GOTG2, Mummy and Transformers all came out just earlier this week and there is literally no chatter about them anymore as sites move on to looking at today's big release.

 

Baywatch, Spider-Man, Apes, Alien, Logan etc. are still to release as well. Not to mention a number of animated trailers for Sing.

there is still a chance the trailer will be featured in front of showings of the movie which is why studios like to release their trailers when a big movie open even if from another studio

The quality of CGI is amazing but I just have no interest in that world and it seems like a carbon copy of the previous movie.
