He won't be resting anytime soon. The nutter want be stopped by old age.

It's possible he could direct more movies and more possible he would take a producing role.

As of now from what I've read he's going to spend his Avatar sequel money on more deep sea exploration which could take up the rest of his days. He's also big on enviromentalism and could spend his time trying to make pushes in that area.

He told RR he won't be directing Alita because he's done after Avatar.

I'm not 100% convinced about that, a few years ago they acquired the movie rights to a book called "The Informationist" by Taylor Stevens. Whether they will actually develop this into a movie only they know for sure but I will say that the main protagonist fits perfectly into the Cameron cannon.

A new york times bestseller, the informationist introduces vanessa michael munroe, a brilliant new heroine, in a thriller for fans of lisbeth salander, jack reacher and jason bourne. 'one of the best thrillers of the year!' tess gerritsen vanessa munroe deals in information - covert information. With an extraordinary intellect, a physique that allows her to pass as either male or female, and ruthless martial arts skills, she offers a unique service to anyone - government or individual - who'll pay her. Now a texas oil billionaire has hired her to find his daughter, who vanished in africa four years earlier. Where international investigators have tried and failed, munroe follows a cold trail far into the lawless lands of central africa. And then things spin out of control. Pulled deep into the mystery of the missing girl, munroe finds herself cut off from civilisation and left for dead. Her only hope of discovering the truth - and of getting out of africa alive - is to face up to the violent past that she's fought so hard to forget.

he should direct Star wars movies after Avatar. Only Jimbo can save that sinking ship and make China fall in love with it.

He doesn't play in other peoples' sandboxes...said so himself. China will never fall in love with Star Wars because it never experienced that explosive debut in 1977, the history isn't there.

Landau doesn't reveal much new information in this recent interview except to confirm that all 4 sequels will be taking place on Pandora, no other moons involved. Also some of the creatures that show up in the Flight of Passage will make an appearance. That's it for now from the Manhattan Project of movie productions.

Thought the sequels would expand the universe and other planets, moons and whatever ... but the 4 movies will take place in Pandora? Kind of risky. The story telling has to be really incredible and hooking ... otherwise can be boring.

Can you imagine a Star Wars trilogy happening only in Tatooine?

I think a better comparison would be pandora and middle earth. I expect the avatar sequels to feature different tribes, cultures, landscapes, and creatures.

I had hoped he explored other moons aswell as I love crazy specticle but there's no risk here.

When you think of Tatooine you think of a barren desert.

while Pandora has plains, oceans, snowy mountains, jungles and floating mountains. It's a full planet with many ecosystems.

Then again I'm pretty sure there would be good ways to make four movies just on tatooine, I mean theres 100 of thousands of films about boring old earth like AAbattery said

The majority of all movies ever made take place on the same planet.

92 year old he masters aging and become young Jim again and fakes his death.

98 years old (25 year old body) he masters cloning and makes an army of newborn Jims altered with slighty differrent appearances and puts them out to suitable foster homes.

112 year old Jim (still 25 bod btw) rounds up his troops and pays out the foster parents as discussed. Has a business that is actually a front for Jim HQ, has science sector and film sector.

135 year old Jim, film Jims have mastered every part of filmmaking and the science team has invented time travel to go to the deep future for inspiration for the perfect Sci fi film.

140 year old Jim producer of Sci-fi epic that made 100 times more money than the current highest grossing film of 2094

142 Jim HQ battles against powerful AI that is destroying the world by sending Jimanators back in time.

143 Jimnet created but isn't an AI, rather a connected network of neural enhanched Jims.

144 Jimnet takes over world and now rules from behind the scenes

Avatar and Star Wars have completely different themes and focuses. Cameron's message in the film was very much about the beauty of nature and the environment so a lot of attention was paid to setting of Pandora.

On the flip side, the characters of Avatar don't hold a freaking candle to the characters of Star Wars.
