Some good news... Not sure if it's been reported, but LLL is now the highest grossing original live action musical.

Ultimately Epilogue and Mia/Sebastian's themes are the two pieces of music that stuck in my head more than anything.

 

I guess Gosling/Stone's singing wasn't doing much for me.

They were both good enough. Emma actually has a pretty good singing voice when she can belt it out like Knock on Wood in Easy A, Cabaret and the second half of Audition. She does tend to sound breathy when she sings more softly.

So if La La Land does win the Oscar for BP it will end up the highest grossing BP winner since 2003 with Return of the King. Has to pass 141.4 / Slumdog Millionaire for that to be a reality - a number it will pass by this time next week probably.

 

Kind of amazing when you think about how the BP winners averaged 190m in the 15 years prior to 2005 and in the past 12 the average has been way down there with the average gross hovering around 85m for the 2005-2015 stretch.

It's definitely Emma.

She actually got her start singing, in The New Partridge Family VHS1 competition when she still went by Emily (she won the role of Laurie Partridge, but they only filmed a pilot, but it got Emma her SAG card)

So I came to see LLL one last time, and when I showed up in the theater I realised I hadn't arrived just one hour in advance, but two.

 

Now I debating with myself if watching LLL for a third time is worth the 2 hours wait.
