Is it possible for JW to overtake AoU ww? Cause if SW does that too, AoU will be out of top 3 ww for the year. Hardly anyone would have bet on that.

Yes, but AoU will still be in the top 3 because SW won't top it

Universal should be crowned the kings of come back franchises.

Usually studios are forced to consider complete reboots by movie number four.

Universal is showing that there's an alternative to rebooting after 3 or 4 movies in a series.

What's a good name for their strategy?

OFF TOPIC: Harry Potter 3 is on and I forgot how well made it is. Truly a beautiful film.

Yup, my fav HP film, thank you Cuaron.

Also, fuck it, take down TA JW! Universal will have a $208-210m ow estimate headline tomorrow anyway lol

Deadline going full retard in their analysis. They assume a flat Saturday from Friday business would lead to a 190 opening?

18.5

64.3

64.3

42.9

Even with the NBA/Game of Thrones on Sunday, a 33-34% drop seems pretty harsh to me for a summer movie where kids are out on Monday and can stay up later Sunday night.
