Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor still fared somewhat well with what they had. But yeah I agree, the PT suffers from bad stories, bad writing and bad acting. The CGI and special effects are way down the list. If the stories were really good and there were quality performances across the board, than the effects would a much smaller gripe.
