I know I'm an incredibly morbid person for looking this up but this is the current IMDB death count for the past 10 years

2015 - 4064

2012 - 3917

2014 - 3793

2011 - 3780

2013 - 3764

2010 - 3676

2016 - 3645

2009 - 3574

2008 - 3527

2007 - 3283

It's actually not looking so bad with three days left

After re watching Postcards on The Edge - the joke crossed my mind more than once.  Debbie would have shot back that she knew Carrie would eventually be the death of her.  Then they would have laughed their asses off.

Meryl's presenting In Memorium again this year. Book it.

It's just because everything is magnified through social media lens so every celebrity death feels like a gut punch when 30 years ago, few of them made the headlines worldwide and most of the times we (as Gen X and Y) didn't grew up with them being part of our lives but someone living in the eighties could have said the same when every Hollywood's 30's/40's/50's superstars died left and right.

And most of all, the fact that it finally dawns on all of the people who grew up with baby boomers celebrities that they have to go someday because obviously there were more superstars from that generation whose careers spanned several decades still impacting our generation's collective memory as well. So brace yourself, the baby boomers hecatomb is just getting started.

Yep, the celebrity deaths are just a microcosm of what's happening with the Baby Boomer generation. Where it starts to hit home is when we realize these celebrities are a similar age to our parents.

Not just the Baby Boomers, but the Silent and Greatest Generations are having their last breath as well.

2016 is just a sneak preview of the next decade or so.

Quality over quantity imo not to mention does every singer now have IMDB pages? I don't think so.
