It probably depends if you saw it as a LEGO spin off or a BATMAN spin off.

Minions did over $100m OW but that was a spin-off to a huge franchise, The Lego Movie was a hit but not on the level of DM.

I think these are pretty good numbers for all the newcomers especially "John Wick 2".   This is like the perfect storm weekend.  You got Females (50 shades), Kids (Lego Batman), Adult/Teen Male (John Wick 2).   So there something for everyone this Valentine Weekend.  Of course 50 shades was going to win with this being Valentines and all.
