ThomasNicole
This weekend is better than i expected... $ 470-480m finish sounds right [for + $ 850m WW]. The movie is a big win, outgrooss the 1st one by around $ 100m with bad exchange rates and with a really meh performance in China is great.
MattW
It made just over $100m in the last 7 days, if it can do another $43m in the next 7 (not sure if that's a big ask with Pirates opening everywhere) it will top the first Guardians Sunday the 28th. miketheavenger
I just hope it reaches 850m WW, which seems possible after this weekend's hold.

YM!
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Disney Disney/Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 has rocketed to $732.6Mglobal, becoming the 6th highest-grossing MCU release of all time. At the international box office, it recorded another $28M in 57 markets this weekend to take the total to $430.8M. It is now 19% ahead of the entire previous offshore run of GOTG at today’s FX rates. In its 4th frame, the James Gunn-helmed sequel had good holds in many markets including Chile (-19%), France (-22%), Norway (-25%), Belgium (-25%), Australia (-28%), Netherlands (-32%), Switzerland (-33%), Malaysia (-33%), Mexico (-38%), Argentina (-39%), Germany (-39%), the UK (-39%), Japan (-39%), Brazil (-41%) and Spain (-41%). When looking at like-for-like markets, the drop-off was 46% from last frame. IMAX play was good for $5M on 883 screens worldwide. That lifts the total in the format to $55M to make it the 2nd movie to cross $50M for IMAX this year. China is still the top hub overall with $94.2M (650M RMB), passing the entire run of GOTG1in local currency. The UK ($47M), Russia ($26M), Germany ($25.5M) and Australia ($22.2M) round out the Top 5. Adding to titles GOTG2 has surpassed internationally, it’s now topped Logan ($381M), Deadpool ($420M) and Suicide Squad ($421M). Globally, it’s beaten Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($714M), Doctor Strange ($678M) and Thor: The Dark World ($645M). YM!
So judging from totals so far: Worst Case: $365M from NA + $95M from China + $355M from OS ='$815M Best Case: $380M from NA + $97M-$100M from China + $383M from OS = $860M Although, GV2 didn't take home the record for $1B like many thought it would (myself included), it is the only MCU film to do $800M without Iron Man/The Avengers, and would be the highest grossing CBM without Batman/Iron Man/Spider-Man. Not a fan of SS but it did solid business OS without china, wonder whats the reason! On the other hand Deadpool did great considering Rating and no china release! John Rambo
Worst case 800m is confirmed if it crashes badly OS. Good increase in most of the markets irrespective of market expansion or ER issues. Infinity war will give the 3rd part a very big boost 1B may be Hope so.
Piku-Banerjee
If Pirates 5 doesn't hurt it badly, I'm going with a final OS total of $475-485 million. Along with a final domestic total of $375 million, that's $850-860 million WW. Very good performance, even though I hoped for a $900+ million final.
