The Box Office Buzz and Tracking Thread: Electric Boogaloo

Recommended Posts

Fascinating day so far...with the overall market obviously expanding from yesterday, it looks like Jumanji is getting a bigger piece of the expansion so far vs the rest...(now, this is only MT.com, so it's not gonna grab the whole market, but it could be a sign of how the day goes and which movie has the best bump...and which the worst...)

38.5% Star Wars: The Last Jedi

18.4% Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

6.6% Greatest Showman, The

5.8% Pitch Perfect 3

3.9% Darkest Hour

Morning MT.com...Much steadier for the top 2...and Coco comes back!

37% Star Wars: The Last Jedi

21.8% Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

7.1% Pitch Perfect 3

6.4% Greatest Showman, The

3.4% Coco

That is a good sign for both Star Wars and (especially) Jumanji.

I hope Coco can somehow really recover over the holidays. Film deserves like all the money (in the world).

Did we know we can also track MT Canada?

http://www.movietickets.ca/default.asp?language=2#.WkKI3N_ib4Y

49% SW

14% Jumanji
7% Darkest Hour

5% Greatest Showman
4% All the Money in the world

Also, there's the UK and Argentina to track.

UK only covers a handful of cinemas, I think there's only 20ish that use the system.

Movietickets.com:

SW: TLJ: 34,7%
Jumanji: 22,7%
PP3: 8,9%
Showman: 6%
Ferdinand: 5,4%

Given that MT was quite good to indiacte TLJ's run in the last few days, we'll see a decrease (maybe a steep) today. Jumanji still doing gangbusters.
