I think the extra showtimes might have mattered here as there are A LOT being put in the 6pm to 8pm window.  And those are selling like hotcakes.

 

Also starting to see more and more sales into the 9pm window though I haven't had time to do a rigorous look at it (and won't for a couple of hours).

 

The big difference between this and a huge CBM/SW flick, as @captainwondyful noted is that the sales aren't as strong in the nighttime window.  However I am seeing an uptick, like I said.  Just not anything overwhelming yet.

 

I'll have some more concise thoughts on that later tonight.  MUCH later tonight.

Finally another strong day in Sacto.  But depending on how the those showings that got added today play out tomorrow, thinking more and more that the range is 20m to 21m.  The TS4 comp dropped quite a bit today, and that's not surprising.  Right now the TS4 comp stands at 20.98m.  As I've said it and the Aladdin comp (22.45m) should equalize tomorrow, so I wouldn't pay much attention to that.

 

But, who knows, could utterly explode tomorrow.  Only one way to find out.

Good gains for Cinemagic today.  The late shows are starting to fill up at Lincoln Square -- even if there's still a steep drop off in the late shows.

while is still too early to tell this is a very promising start, china,south korea and brazil so far have good reactions

I know it’s anecdotal at best, but TLK just posted the 3rd biggest OD ever in New Zealand. Given how well NZ and Australia are as a mirror for the domestic market, this bodes very well.

In Australia it opened yesterday but I haven't seen any news for that for some reason.

Yeah it’s big $1.3m local currency on one day is insanity, add to that it was a Wednesday, and there was no public holidays (there was school holidays though). Both Avengers movies opened around ANZAC Day (a holiday in Australia and NZ) and TFA was in December fairly close to Christmas (and had midnights). Crazy start for The Lion King over here.

557/3228 = 17.26%  (July 17)

 

2.39 x 233 of TS4 (Wed -7:40pm)

 

I'll update this later this afternoon but from a look it seems to be filling up.  They just changed one of the 3Ds to a larger auditorium even though those are selling the slowest. - a clue they think walk ups will fill it.    That's typical of this location though (40%+ of AEG was 3D b/c they knew the seats would eventually sell).  This theater only converted to full reserve seating this last year and for the overwhelming majority of films is still very heavily walk up based.   

 

OUATIH has sold 29 tickets over two showings for Thur previews

H&S have sold 33 over 4 showings including 2 RPX
