I didn't knew it was a hot take to think Jennifer Lopez was fine as an actress and a singer. Interesting.

She's actually a really good actress, you just have to go back and watch her earlier stuff (Selena, Out of Sight) to find her best work and wonder why she didn't have a more interesting film career.

Watch 5 minutes of her show Shades of Blue and witness her Disney Channel level performance (and marvel at Ray Liotta's new face)

She chose the "boring" rom-com route.

Nobody would hire her in "challenging" roles. that's why the rom-com route

I can't believe people think she can act.

Probably heh. There was that time where she was trying to be the next Julia Roberts with movies that were like Roberts vehicles (The Wedding Planner/My Best Friend's Wedding, Enough/Sleeping with the Enemy, Maid in Manhattan/Pretty Woman) yet none were as successful or did much of anything for her.

NOS is opening a theater in Évora soon. Remind me, where are you from?

I'm from Campo Maior, near Elvas/Portalegre. Basically Nabeiro/Delta Town :P And there are some places where movies play, but rarely do they play anything that's not shitty animated films. I don't know if Beauty And The Beast and Fast 8 played here.

And Évora is an hour from where I live. My best hope of watching movies regularly is when I return to college in Abrantes. So basically, I'm fucked. :sadben:

Of course a 20mil opening day is great.  I'm just curious to see how it holds up after obvious front-loading.

INCEPTION had something like a 16-17% jump from its true Friday. The same jump would put DUNKIRK's Saturday around 17-18m or so.

Cinemascore can be misleading regarding legs. Spider-man and Apes each scored an A- or better. Whereas, 47 Meters scored less than an A-. 47 Meters will has shown the best legs.

For whatever reason, horror movies almost always get "bad" Cinemascores.
