I hope they don’t give up on that. Will be great to have something rival the Spectre and Passengers fudge to milestones. Buy a Solo ticket, get a WIT ticket free.

I remember the Spectre fudge (and my favorite, Tran4mers' OW), but what was the deal with Passengers?

I can safely state that the funniest moment in LOTP is not in the trailers and it is a very funny segment. A couple of the minor characters not highlighted in the trailers are also amusing. Overall, McCarthy has made better films and she has made worse ones. It’s a perfectly fine film for moms to see on Mother’s Day. It will be forgotten soon afterwards, though.

Looks like my movie of the week will be Revenge. I know nothing about it other than apparently it might be violent and someone will presumably seek revenge for some kind of reason. Also @That One Guy recommended it so I probably made a big mistake and should have gone to see Blockers instead.

I haven’t seen it.  I was giving you a blind recommendation.  I don’t even know if it’s good.  I just think it looks really good.

It’s not hard to see it, given that it’s on rental services right now.

And I turned 17 a few weeks ago 🤔

I never realized you were so young lol

I am more inclined to think that Disney is after the headlines that would be made about EVERY film they release this year being over 100m..... that is impressive. Next year isn't a possibility due to the Disney Nature flick in April. Course, just watch Mary Poppins somehow miss 100m....

:hahaha:

Iger would probably take out a hit on everyone involved in the project if that somehow happened (RIP Emily, RIP LMM).

Nutcracker could still ruin the record regardless of any WiT fudge. Concept of a movie based on that is iffy to start with and the release date is about as bad as it gets for a movie that should be taking advantage of Xmas.

Attendance at the new theater by me has PLUMMETED. Infinity War has been selling 15-25 tickets per show across 4 screens, and the the rest of the top five has been struggling in the high singles to mid teens. Forget about the other stuff playing  My AMC is selling significantly more tickets for the main releases out right now, and they have a lot more 3D showtimes for IW. Yesterday, most daytime shows didn't even sell 10 tickets. The biggest reason this theater is struggling is that they're expensive as hell. A weekend matinee is about $10.20, which is already the most expensive ticket in the county for any time of day. Add in a $2 convenience fee if you're reserving seats online, and that's over $12 per ticket for a matinee! Evening shows go up two dollars, which puts a 2D ticket bought online at $14.30. For a rural area, that is insane. They will not last long at their current prices, and operating hours are probably going to be reduced.

At least the PTA were still somewhat respectable though. AWIT is currently sitting at just $88 for Friday. That's an average of 10 people in all 1500 theatres.

I'd be willing to bet it's one of the worst PTA's in a single day for a movie in 1500 theatres

EDIT: Okay, there's films that've done much worse, but I think it may be the lowest for a film of this size perhaps

You aren't old enough to go to the AMC theater I am watching it at.

July and August are a freaking wasteland this summer in America.

Not a single heavy hitter on the horizon.

All the big boys are released in May & June this year.

No potential 300M grosser, even 250M could be hard.

Maybe Ant-Man and the Wasp can do 250m, 300m seems complicated for them.

Unless Meg becomes the new Jaws ...

:Venom:
