I think the issue is that Deadpool compared to Solo or IW has less of a hardcore fanbase and a large number of casuals...who will simply walk up and watch this movie the day or buy tickets the day of.

Great number! I expected 19M base on presales near me, so it seems my area is comparable for Thu previews at least.

 

Let’s hope it’s not comparable for Sat and Sun though.

Yeah I don't see DP2 topping $150m either. I'd be happy if breaks $140m, STOKED if it goes over Vol. 2. It's an excellent film and the best X-Men film I've ever saw. It deserves every penny, it's just a shame that I think this is a TERRIBLE release date.

it should do better than dp1's 57% fss drop despite solo. dp1 had an inflated sunday in ow and dp2 will have an inflated one in 2nd weekend.
