Definitely way up there. The only ones higher were either OD's or Star Wars.

Its second Sunday was father's day. And it was a bit more of a weekend movie than is typical for a June/July blockbuster, not to mention an animated one.

I don’t know what people are smoking in this thread. $27M Tuesday for a movie that opened where I2 did is fantastic. 

 

Also based on the demo breakdown we got on OW, this seems like a film that’s going to play better on the weekends than other family animated movies did which is why $100M+ second weekend is in the cards.

assuming 27mil is true then it's lead would be 57mil wouldn't it? Heck it's lead will probably be around 80mil after the 2nd weekend. give 40mil from Wed/thur and then a 90mil 2nd weekend.

Look Out MoviePass: AMC Theatres Adds $20/Month Movie Ticket Subscription Service

 

AMC Theatres has upped the ante in the monthly movie ticket subscription war with MoviePass, and is adding a new tier to its current rewards program called AMC Stubs A-List.

 

For $19.95 a month, members will get three movies a week (defined as Friday through Thursday; approximately 12 titles a month), along with all the benefits of the theater chain’s rewards program AMC Stubs Premiere. The program kicks off on Tuesday, June 26 and members can reap the benefits immediately.
