But now we just rank the MCU in every thread possible 24/7. We’ll be doing it in the World Cup thread soon enough.

:gold:

Besides, there’s already a thread in the Popular Franchises section.

Sad news the Creator of Spider-man and Doctor Strange just passed away recently:

I hate reading stuff like this:

Quote

Ditko was found dead in his apartment on June 29 and it is believed he died about two days earlier.”

So sad there was nobody there for him. No wife and no survivors too. Also doubt he made that much money off Spider-Man.

I didn’t know he created so many though. The Question, Hawk & Dove, and Squirrel Girl.

Rate the planet of the apes movies.

1. Dawn of the planet of the apes

2. Rise of the planet of the apes

3. War for the planet of the apes

Conquest of the planet of the apes is a great movie.

I hate when the titles don’t help me indicate which film is which.

A 35 million Friday will lead only to 85-90 million OW? I don't believe it.

I see it more like, 35 Friday, 33 saturday, 28 Sunday= 96 million

But I can totally see this barely going above 100.

It's July though. A $33m Sat after $23.5m true Friday would be a >40% increase, that's way too much. For comparison, Homecoming got a 4.7% true Fri-Sat increase last year.

Yup. As others have said, we'll have to see the true Friday come in more impressively to start thinking about anything approaching $100M+ OW. As in, that previews + Friday number will need to be revised up to no less than $38M+ to have any real chance.

Guardians Vol. 1 did $37.8M Friday and it's did $94.3M for the weekend. I see no reason this would be any more walk up friendly than that one. Realistic goal until new numbers come in are just over/under $90M OW DOM.

It’s Schindler’s List but Woody is Ralph Fiennes.

i think he's supposed to be colonel kurtz. the movie is very subtle about the parallels and doesn't just have large graffiti writing that says APE-POCALYPSE NOW cos otherwise it would be dumb.

Just now, WrathOfHan said:

btw, Woody's career has been fire ever since True Detective. Guy's been getting role after role, and he's even stepping into the funny book realm later this year :Venom:

since No Country for Old Men really.

Dawn, War, Rise. All great movies. One of the best trilogies out there.

Since Cheers?

nah he didn't make any movies at all in 1999-2003 and it was mostly small roles in nothing movies from then on until NCFOM. I still remember I was pleasantly surprised to see him in that movie because I'd remembered him as a '90s actor who disappeared and then boom a couple of years later he had Zombieland, 2012, an Oscar nod, then THG, etc.
