Hollywood is so stupid. Tuesday showings should not be part of Friday numbers.

They are brillant, it make no sense that thursday showing are called Friday numbers or weekend either, yet are now accepted so will tuesday fan events eventually.

They know a lot of people decide to see a movie or not see a movie according to the OW press, using general audience decision making to inform theirs, those tricks help that press.

So are the Tuesday sneaks included in this number? They can't be, right? That would mean a drop from FB1's previews. How often does that happen for an anticipated sequel?

according to Box Office Mojo they're included in the 9.1M

Grindelwald did begin Thursday previews an hour earlier than its predecessor and the $9.1 million also includes As part of a Global event, we'll be in ~48 territories including the US and Canada. Domestically we'll be a fan event that took place on Tuesday night in ~600 locations.

Guess we'll have to see what business later on is like. FWIW it's selling great for tonight around here but the afternoon shows have been really dead for the most part (the 12:40 in PLF that starts in less than 30 minutes has sold only 10 seats so far, for instance).

oooof 6.1M from Thursday would be pretty damn bad. Guess we gotta wait for Friday numbers to be more telling

With $3m in Tues doing 33% of previews one would hope that means Friday would be less front loaded.  It needs to be if this is going anywhere near $60m.  Even a 9x doesn't get it there.

I guess it's pretty much safe for FB2 to open over 65M. And I am expecting something in the 68-72M range. Just what tracking was expecting.

IF number is really solid given the muted presales. The definition of a walk-up movie. 20M+ opening in the horizon.

Widows preview number is fine also.
