Wierdly enough, I had a very similar experience when I saw The Avengers in 2012. I was moving to Edmonton and had just arrived there the day before the premiere. I had my ticket booked and a group of us (we were all from BC) went out looking for the theatre. I guess we weren't GPS'ing at the time. Anyway, we got directions from this guy but he gave us directions to the WRONG theatre! We had seats at the VIP theatre and missed our show. Luckily we were able to get them exchanged for a later show. It still sucked royally though.
