Spoiler

Mostly joking, but something like 61-65 wouldn't have been such a shocking thing for Rth to show up saying and would be much nicer.

How were your predictions last week

Does it matter?

Not like TOG was claiming he had good predictions or whatever. Just ironic for a poster to discredit another poster's predictions because it doesn't fall in line with what they want/expect AND then have RTH come in and pretty much agree with the "concern" troll's prediction.

I didn't make very many official predictions.  Only one I recall is that Endgame would have around a 2.5x multi.

I had been intially going with 58-62, see how eve goes

Very similar to IW's 2nd weekend increase from Fri to Sat. Let's see if it can beat CW's first Sat.

What's the over/under on $150m looking like?

Under, if the lower end of Rth's numbers holds.

I'm frankly pretty shocked.

If it has a Sunday drop similar to IW off of $58M, it'll get to like $145M

If it has a Sunday drop similar to IW off of $62M, it'll get to $152M

I doubt Endgame will increase more than IW. As I keep saying it has strong IMAX/PLF grosses and there is limited growth potential in that format. Also late night shows have started to slow down. I would say somewhere in mid 40's to 50% increase today. So range should be 58-62m.

Thanks for your ‘concern trolling.’ Fits in with the rest of the debbie downers today.

And yeah, you’re predictions aren’t gonna happen.

This exchange couldn't have had a more perfect ending lmao

And who would consider a 50+% jump to be trolling?

Bingo. The dismissive attitudes that some people take towards wanting to see certain milestones passed can be really grating.

This is is all a spectator sport in the end, once certain benchmarks are Locked to fall you need to move on to harder ones to keep things interesting. ...

guess how someone feels who  does not really care for milestones, absolitly not at all for which movie places on what # position....

I love how people use the CM as an excuse. I've seen on this board loads of people ranking it near dead last.

I've consistently said it's 10th or 11th me. The difference between 9th and 15th isn't much for me.

Very few have indicated it was the best imo.

I love the CM movie very much, I do not say its #1, can't remember having seen someone else having placed it on #1

...that the supposed “SJW” stuff in CM only slightly irritated me for feeling too “on the nose” ....

I read your clarifiers, like the rest of your post, but... see the cockpit post

People would come after you for the way you use that term. Not sure why people still legitimize such a ridiculous term/complaint.

agree

I put it in quotes for a reason, the point is that I meant the stuff alleged to be “SJW” by others. And really, I just thought the “there’s a reason why they call it the cockpit” line was kind of stupid and cartoonishly dickish. But I get what they were going for and it did not make me actually mad in any way.

My biggest “issue” with CM was just that it felt middle-of-the-road, but I feel the same way about something like Doctor Strange (I can’t remember a single thing about that movie off the top of my head other than “Dormammu, I’ve come to bargain.”).....

If you think that, than you have missed literally tons of RL situations where boys or men said literal things like that, 99% of those probably not even realising what they are actually saying there.

That line was out of the ~ mid '80 part of the story, then very much normal in a day-to-day life way. 10 years later was a bigger change for a time, women working in men-typical fields were way more accepted than before. That was the time where it seemed that there might be actually a real change be possible, especially in IT it was way better than today, like black and white difference.

Today there seems to be a split, in some professions more than then in others way less acceptance, internal and external also differences.

Most here might know that, newer members probably not:

Me = only female pupil in the '70 in a technical grade / class / year's grouping whatever the term is school, and having worked for ~ 20 years in a specialised technical custom adapted production company, first as a simple worker rather fast as the head/boss of the production department, means a lot of first contacts on building sites or per telephone or... where people still ask for the boss, when I already reacted. But also happened, bcs I was wayyyyy younger than all the others as I got promoted in fast steps to that and tended to look then very young for my age.

= I see in the movie lots of 'finally' moments and more, many little / not loud details.

= how the movie hints at it = a rather very harmless version of what was normal then.

So every complain about that a movie, that shows only a 1% version of what was 100% - that is what seems to be over the top, not the scenes shown in the movie, hence the reaction.

I am one of those who also remembers a lot of the lines / details in the DS movie, maybe we look simply for other details or.... hence why I didn't snip second part

= I have no problem with your opinion about the movie, but the reasoning for why there is presumably something over the top / cartoon-ish,... I  think even older men are not aware about how much crap similar old women went through at that time partly on a daily basis, it was too normal then (and the worse versions certain males preferred to say without witnesses, especially if thinking its a possibility for a come on in a rougher speaking style way, bcs a woman working in such a surrounding likes it that way or whatever they think / thought... bias) and gets sadly 'normal' in another style again in a in my POV worse way.

If Endgame were headed for a BvS style drop I could understand some of these reactions but it isn't. It's a raving success. I'm just pissed that it is harming a great film like Shazam.

Blame WB for choosing that date. August would have been fine.
