If this April 2020 release actually sticks (which is probably won't given the trend with this movie), that means the gap between the first trailer and the actual release date is 42 months (3 years and 6 months).

Is there any other movie that has had THAT long of a gap between the first trailer and its eventual release, and I'm talking about official trailers, not footage from Comic-Con or anything like that?

there were rumors of a Where the Wild Things Are Trailer being played in front of the Grinch in 2000 and the movie came out in 2009. I don't think that has ever been really proven though
