I never knew this until a couple years ago, but apparently some of Emmerich's films have humanitarian messages to them that he's 100% sincere about. Like he truly believed Day After Tomorrow would lead to people dealing with climate change.

 

 

I'll leave that to you to decide if that makes his movies better or worse.

Both are shit, but the 2016 one was better because it's not trying its hardest to copy Bay's style in the most haphazard way possible.
