Despite some fun work from Cameron Diaz, it's a missed opportunity. It's sporadically funny, but it's not as edgy or nasty as it should be.

As it happens, I just watched it a couple of days ago. It's biggest problem, other than the fact that it was a comedy that was not particularly funny, was that it was a comedy that was caught between two genres of comedy. It wasn't really "dark" enough to be a dark comedy, and, as a straight comedy, the problem is that it is difficult to enjoy a comedy where the main character is essentially a sociopath with virtually no redeeming qualities whatsoever. It was at least relatively entertaining and did have a few amusing moments, so I would give it a C.As an aside, I had thought that it was well-received, probably because I know it did well at the box office, but, after watching it, I checked, and it actually got fairly crappy reviews and user ratings on IMDB. So it wasn't just me on this one.

Yeah, there kinda wasn't a single moment of this movie that made me laugh. I'm not sure I ever even smiled while watching it.

I was really upset that it ended up basically sucking because I thought the trailer was hysterical.

Apart from some mildly funny scenes, rather bland and - worst thing for a comedy - completely predictable. Most of the incoming "gags" you could spot from miles away.

"Fuck, I thought she was never gonna leave" was the only thing I laughed at in this movie.
