Managed to get the rare 99% under 100 reviews. Average rating is also still holding really strong at 8.1

IW being the audience favorite is debatable. It has better scores online but Endgame generally had better scores in theater surveys which perhaps means that Endgame played better for general audiences while IW was more liked by fans.

I don't know, the ending to IW is what gave Endgame those monstrous numbers. All over social media were people giving its praise but there was a common theme that IW seemed to be the favourite

Did in France what was the absolute minimum goal: It was #2 yesterday behind that as it seems giant Kaamelott (1M admissions over the last week including Tuesday).
The Jungle Cruise was #3 with 43.5k admissions (so TSS had more admissions than 43.5k but no idea how many and after that sobering séance number I have my doubts that the Wednesday was great).
The French fan reception of TSS is so far quite good I think: 3.7/5 with 370 votes at allocine. For comparison: BW has a rating of 3.4/5 but with nearly 4k votes at the moment.

I'm not even sure BW can be a direct comparison. You have to pay $29.99 for premier access on Disney+ that may have led to more people saying if I have to pay that much then I'll just go to the theaters. 

 

TSS is free for those who are already subbed to HBO Max and it's $14.99 if you weren't subbed though you then also get the rest of the library for a month. It's overall a better deal than BW anyway you look at it.

I am expecting an underperformance though. The first one was probably one of the worst blockbusters ever made and the trailers make this movie look too similar

I mean it was expected to do way less than it could've done because of Covid/protests, but it's much less than one of the worst comic book movies ever made that did 82 mln wordwide (!) back then.

Cinedirctors.net predicts that TSS will be #2 behind Kaamelott (which is predicted to lose 30%) with 300k admissions including Tuesday (so Jungle Cruise could be #2 over the weekend). The predictions of this site are normally very good. Still, 300k isn't a great number of course. Let's see if WOM helps in the next weeks (but of course a lot of factors are not helpful)...

You need to have had both of your vaccines to get in to the cinema in France just now. The whole box office fell 70%. Of course the numbers are low.
