Oh, you are talking REAL people? Like real-real, maybe even yourself?

No, I might have to disappoint you here. We're talking strictly fictional characters and what their creators might have planned for them.

And, BTW, the Shay is bisexual - so snap out of your victim narrative, please. LOL

The Shay, I'm telling you this as someone who appreciates your posts, just move on, I don't want to see you get banned over something dumb like this. 👍

There is some speech pattern that are more prevalent among English speaking gay men.

Enough that study that will record a number of men and ask people listening to the recording to identify gay and straight among the group they statistically do better than randomness pick would do.

But obviously like for everything, the study is clear that:

Not all gay men sound gay, perhaps fewer than half, Rogers says. “It was interesting that the straightest-sounding voice in the study was in fact a gay man and the sixth gayest-sounding voice was a straight man. It’s quite ordinary for gay men not to sound gay and every now and then you find a straight man who sounds gay.”

Has for the acting in a movie should never be obvious for the watcher that the person is gay or not by how the person dress, act, speech. One would think that, but actually it is a controversial debate to have only represent could pass hetero a la Dave Rubin and never having them sounding and looking gay.

Straight passing gays do really well in today society, they make more money than straight people in average. Apparently the issue is more for non straight passing gays:

It is not just some made up false stereotype, that why in Love Simon you have him talk to a non straight passing gay teenager about it and it was easy to understand.

You might find this interesting, too. 91% accuracy - https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/sep/07/new-artificial-intelligence-can-tell-whether-youre-gay-or-straight-from-a-photograph

Standard practice that IMDb does allowing movies to be rated sometimes 2 weeks before US release. I don't know their official reasoning, but I'd figured it could have something to do with movies not releasing on the same day worldwide.

God, people still take the IMDB rating systems seriously?

Focused more on the connection between Aladdin and Jasmin, good cast for Jafar, initial trailer was a whole new world and nothing else and this would be blowing up.

Instead it will leave at least 250m on the table

Aladdin is receiving the Dolby screen and the IMAX screen at my local AMC (with the exception of the late night IMAX showing which is being given to Brightburn). A healthy weekend is in store, if parents are eager for a film to sit through with the kids.

I just relized, they changed the beautiful german lyrics for this movie, just like they did, when they literally killed the german version of The Little mermaid for the re-release.

I'm not sure if I can sit through this.

Hard to believe anyone taking issue with Howard Ashman's lyrics

Actually, they changed the lyrics to be closer to Ashmans original Lyrics for Little Mermaid, but closer is not always better, when the result should be a piece of art and I swear, some of those german translations are even better in terms of beauty and poetry, than the original ones. They truly are a piece of art.

The new movies, Frozen, Vaiana and stuff are pretty much 1:1 translations and thatfor heartless and awkward.

Even if this tanks with critics (which I don't think it will), the audience reception is likely gonna be pretty positive (or at least solid enough), so I don't think legs will be too shabby either even with the upcoming competition.

It'll see a somewhat steep fall next weekend coming off of a 4-day holiday but it shouldn't have too much difficulty stabilizing in the two weeks after that (Dark Phoenix, Pets 2, and Men in Black all feel like nonevents) before Toy Story 4 opens when it should hold well given the Disney overlap.

I swear if this actually goes over well with critics after all (say RT > 75), I will use this as Exhibit B for my arguments that Disney is far from infallible when it comes to  marketing their movies.

(Solo will be Exhibit A forever and always for the record)
