Meanwhile we are turning The Great Wall into a blockbuster, one month after turning xXx 3 into a blockbuster, and 4 months before we turned Mechanic 2 into one of the biggest surprise hits of 2016. I think we just don't give a fuck about the genre.

Debatable, given how The Conjuring movies perform like blockbusters here too, but good insight nonetheless.

Those informations are disturbing about our lack of taste, though. No wonder the Chinese want to buy us out.

They still haven't had Armond taint the RT score yet.

Does he count a legit critic, though? All I keep hearing and seeing about him is that he's a troll.

Once his initial publication (NY Press) became defunct, his reviews weren't on RT for a while, but he's found a new publication that gets his reviews up periodically.

The Conjuring 2 is the only horror movie I remember doing big numbers. Definitely the only that crossed the 100000 tickets sold barrier as long as I follow box office. That says a lot. It also had the biggest OD ever for a horror movie here. Don't Breathe did shit numbers in early September and Lights Out couldn't save itself either in late July.

You can bet the 2nd weekend of The Great Wall beat the 1st weekend of John Wick 2 here.

Oh, so maybe we do, in fact, not care for horror. Which only makes the Conjuring 2 phenomenom even weirder in hindsight. The fuck triggered people to go see that (assuming that the 1st movie wasn't big)? Was Annabelle a success or something?

In good Portuguese slang, foda-se. That's what happens when Lionsgate can't advertise their films for shit here.

Conjuring did solid numbers with a 2 month delay (64000 tickets sold in total, opened here in mid September). Annabelle was a strong player during October finishing with 80000 tickets sold or so. Then The Conjuring 2 exploded and ended with 120000 tickets sold. The first movie is THAT GOOD that it bumped the sequel to a place where no horror movie went before. It is the only explanation. Nothing even comes close.

PRIS fucking stinks. They had the John Wick 2 rights and they did nothing to sell the damn movie.

With 3M increase, does it mean Get Out plays well with the church crowd?

lol I was wondering something similar actually. I think it just had very strong word of mouth over the weekend.

Sorry if this is a repost, but Get Out's rating on Rotten Tomatoes just dropped a notch to 99%.

Just ONE rotten review.

And it has to be ARMOND WHITE.

Hahahahaha.

I wonder what took so long, I think GO was only around 115/0 when White's review was posted here.
