In your expert opinion, do you think Endgame could hit 900 show times? Also, do you have info on how many times TFA had?

Sorry, no info on TFA.

As for how how far it can go in NYC - looking at what already out there and how many theaters are still running behind  their max of previous highs maybe ... 800?  This is really unknown territory for me.

About 60% a little below a lot of other theaters i've seen on here tbh.

I’m located in a city just north of Toronto, presales aren’t this big at my theatre usually and movies never get this many show times.

for example  Captain marvel only had 4 showtime and sold only about 800 tickets total for all those shows and that was final sales on the day of the previews.

So, I'm wondering if the VERY last minute Atom deal will bump numbers as early as today, or later on this weekend.  I see lots of people in the cities scooping up the deal for the Imax and Dolby showings (which are included).  They probably should have released the deal yesterday, but I think it still might be enough to pump up the weekend a couple extra million, which since we're talking mid-range performance ($40-$60M) could still be pretty significant...

EDIT: Locally, the difference in the 7pms between my Atom and non-Atom last minute sales are REALLY significant.  Atom theater is practically now a sellout at 7pm and more importantly, the 3d at 7:30pm (which was an average seller a few hours ago) - and they added a 10:30pm 3d in the last hour...it looks like the deal is a "move the customer" price...

You may be on to something. I was wondering what happened because some of the shows picked up significantly as I am scanning the AMC app. I don’t know it it’s walk ups. Maybe it might be that deal. The earlier shows didn’t do too hot, but the evening shows look promising in NYC and surrounding areas. Would you happen to know how the 3.3 million already earned will count toward the weekend? Will they just add it to the total?

for the folks who've seen Pikachu listings, dare I ask when that one starts?

Good old fashioned 7pm? Or earlier since it will target kids?

Mine so far has 4PM and 9:30PM with an additional 3D showing. Might as well just make it a Thursday release at this point

Goes towards final total not opening weekend I believe.

Normally, since Aquaman, they have been splitting it out and just adding it in the running total...they didn't use to do that til that movie, but previews started to get really confusing on what was Thursday and what wasn't, so I THINK it's the new normal...but who knows...

But then they'd have to have Wed previews.

Maybe start with midnights before easing in to earlier in the day? YiBe40t.png

Spoiler

No, I'm NOT bitter about how 'Black Friday' sales got pushed all the way back into the middle of Thanksgiving.  Why do you ask?

Final sales for first imax show for Shazam is 220/303, only two front rows basically open. Shazam will probably perform better here as rth pointed out to me a few weeks ago that horror always underperforms in Canada so the States will pick up the slack for Pet Sematary

8PM showtime is looking at 62 tickets sold. I gave myself time so I can watch it tonight (instead of having to wait till next weekend...my gift for getting an A in Internal Med) so I won’t be able to update for 10PM showtime unfortunately or the 3D showtime.

Welp, 1st Atom deal for Shazam sold out its inventory before they managed to actually email the deal to their email list, so it must have been the right price:)...I wonder if we see another deal Sunday for the following week/weekend:)...

I know Aquaman had multiple deals over its run, avoiding having them available on the Xmas weekend and the New Years weekend, and then reopening them after those events were over (Aquaman had the classic $5 off 2 tickets vs this "drive the groups/family" deal for 3 tickets)...

That's a pretty decent jump from this morning:

2019-04-04 00:00:24.701046 UTC
1	58.2%	Avengers: Endgame
2	9.1%	Us
3	7.7%	Dumbo
4	5.7%	Shazam!
5	5.5%	Captain Marvel

Should be in line to take over the #1 spot mid-day Friday.

===

BTW, what's that "adj" bit you added?

EDIT::: Never mind.  It's what it 'would be' if Endgame wasn't around, right?
