2nd local (Regal) - No late minute ICOI or any last minute add - it's just going with Tomb Raider and Love Simon and it's still a bloodbath...we'll see if they missed on booking, but here's their set...

NEW

Tomb Raider (2 - 9 showings - 2 3d/ 7 2d - biggest and average)

Love Simon (1 - 5 showings - smallest)

Returning

AWIT (2)

Strangers Prety at Night (1)

Black Panther (3)

Red Sparrow (1)

Peter Rabbit (.8)

Gringo (.2 - last showing on PR screen) - Didn't take long - they might be regretting which movie they booked last week:)

Game Night (.8)

Death Wish (.2 - 1st showing on Game Night screen)

GONE

The Greatest Showman, Paddington, The Shape of Water, Early Man, Annihilation

2nd local (Regal) is up, and in a surprise to me, they are NOW booking ICOI and skipping on PAUL (even though that means neither local gets that movie...which is weird b/c mostly only Regals (and a few AMCs) in my wider area have it, but I guess not this one)...so, if you need evidence of ICOI WOM explosion (or bad theater decision making by delaying and then booking after-the-fact:), this weekend will probably provide it at this theater...also, this theater, like the other local, booked the big 2 and stayed away from the rest of the openers - look for not huge theater numbers for any of the "others"...anyway, here's the rest...

NEW

Pacific Rim 2 (1 - split - 2 2d / 3 3d - biggest)

Sherlock Gnomes (1 - 5 showings - above average)

ICOI (1 - 5 showings - above average)

RETURNING

Black Panther (2 - lost a screen)

Love Simon (1)

Tomb Raider (1.5)

AWIT (1 - lost a screen)

Red Sparrow (1)

Game Night (1)

The Strangers Prey At Night (.25 - 1 showing)

Peter Rabbit (.75 - Strangers gets the last show)

GONE

Gringo, Death Wish

PS - There is a 1/2 screen of showings still available - I'm betting they will be "last minute" adds as the weekend plays for one or more of the openers, since it would be hard to find showings from the current set to "steal" last minute since Spring Break starts here this weekend...

At this rate the number of empty seats will have grown by over 2000 by OW, doesn’t look good ;)

But who will save the civilians?

Now we know what Hawkeye is up to and why he might not be in the film.  He's busy leading the evacuation efforts here.

Pulse:

1. ICOI

2. Infinity War

3. Black Panther

4. Pacific Rim

5. Wrinkle in Time

5 minutes of watching:

14 Paul

13 Ready Player One

12 Sherlock Gnomes

4 Unsane

2 Isle of Dogs

1 God's Not Dead

1 Midnight Sun

I feel pretty good about a mid-20s opening for Pacific Rim with these strong sales and not-shit reviews.

Also, Unsane might not open horrendously low. These sales are pretty decent all things considered

Wait, so how's Paul doing compared to ICOA last week?

I swear, if we get two of these religious breakouts in the same number of weeks, Slambros must have drank some luck potion or something

It's still far behind ICOI. I'm expecting an OW over 5M but not much higher

85/840 tickets sold for the full weekend at the closest place to me with the movie (not one I track, so not sure how it compares)...this represents no groups, so I also don't know if Paul has been as successful as ICOI at making that happen...also, this is not "Paul" country (just like it wasn't ICOI country), so it's not as sucky as it might appear:)...

So, with that number, I feel good it's getting to 7 figures...now to get it to 8 figures and win my bet:)...

It's sold 11 tickets for Friday at my theater. Not bad, but also nothing special for the genre.
