No TFA numbers?

I only go up to October 2017.

So Blank Panther was a much better seller at your theater than TLJ?

Also is that good or bad for DP2 for your theater?

Yes. Keep in mind, my theater is much more positively skewed towards black-led movies, so it probably overperformed here.

As for DP2, it looks...fine? I think it should be doing a bit better, but since it's still 4 weeks away, and IW is bigger priority for just about every consumer, it's not anything to be super nervous about.

Um, why in the world is Life of the Party running an ad during an NBA playoff game? Is there some hidden market the film is trying to reach with a commercial during a basketball game?

Women like to watch basketball games as well, you know.

NBA playoffs theatrical movie advertisements might be doing Mother's Day sales push(next 3 or so weeks I think)

Breaking In and Life of the Party are the two main openers.  Life of the Party is distributed by Warner Brothers and should get more than 3,200 screens.  I don't think Breaking In will dip below 2,000 because it is being distributed by Universal.  Universal vs WB over the Mother's Day weekend for new openers.  Breaking In has a trailer that says is coming out "Mothers Day" weekend.  this might give Breaking In a more backloaded Sunday than it might have if there were no trailer mentioning "mothers day" in the title.

Life of the Party should have a Sun around equal to Sat, and I Feel Pretty and Tulley should as well (or increase).  And with Breaking In (OW screens, that is 5 possible wide releases that might be backloaded).

Assuming the ad was indeed targeting women, why advertise during an expensive event when the female audience would be relatively small (compared to the total audience)? Wouldn’t it be a better use of ad dollars buying several ads on a television program/event with a much larger female audience? It just seemed like an odd place for a LotP ad. I think they are testing reactions from audiences besides the primary demo.

I suspect it might even be better for the playoffs but looking about, 30% of the fanbase for the NBA is women.  It might very well be cost effective for them to air it there based on total eyeballs versus some other program that might have a better demo target.

And that's not even factoring cross-demo appeal that Thematrixfilm was musing about.

I noticed every movie has been stripped of extra screens next week at my local. Right now both Rampage and A Quiet Place have 3 screens each, next week they are down to one.

Sounds normal for an MCU may opener / mega film
