So most people had this below Interstellar?

If that's the case I'll gladly retract my statement (regarding Dunkirk).

I would say 80% of the forum had it below Interstellar.

I pulled 80% out of my ass, but it was a lot. Myself included.

Dunkirk is not doing poorly just because people way over predicted it. Many people on here, including myself, said that the 240mil predictions were ridiculous and were just Nolan fans setting themselves up for disappointment. Why on earth did anyone think that Dunkirk was going to do Inception numbers?

The MCU is dumbing down people.

If you don't have jokes and quips every two minutes, GA aren't interested anymore.

Apes 3 seems too serious for its own good.

Call Joss W, Fox !

Oops, rumor has it he s no longer available ...

There are plenty of success stories of good movies doing good things this summer. Fucking Baby Driver man. It's still my favorite movie of the year and it's run is spectacular. Wonder Woman a superhero origin that really does a great job of creating it's character while also being an exploration of war? Yep. 400M+ Dunkirk, not my favorite movie but a godly director with all the freedom in the world and people show up.

The pessimism here is insane

Spider-Man: Homecoming , Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Girls Trip are three more examples of solid films that have made decent amounts of money this summer.  So I don't understand why, with WW, GOTGV2, Dunkirk, GT, SM:H, and BD all thriving (and beyond), one little animated movie that happens to be "bad" as well as successful is going to destroy quality filmmaking. :D

Whedon has his grubby hands on Justice League right now. I'm terrified at what he will do after turning AOU into Quipfest The Movie.

Taking away WB's obvious outlier, average prediction seems to be around 172 million.

EDIT: Missed a number somewhere

AoU is far more ambitious than anything the MCU has done recently

Literally the Pixar fanboys are probably the most irritating part of the site imo.

I cant stand the pretentiousness. They act like no other animated studio should have any success because anything but Pixars/WDAS is just bullshit and they go even further pointing that Illumination/SPA is degrading the animation genre....blah blah blah.

I just cant. Its fucking movies for kids and kids like them. Whats so important?

I assume Water Bottle meant worldwide, not domestic.

Nah he totally meant domestic, but it wasn't exactly the most serious prediction.
