But in my perfect world Apes and spiderman would swap domestic grosses too

In my perfect world, all The Lego movies would do $150M+ OW and $400M Domestically with $1B WW.

Thankfully a certain family film in September will benefit from weak family movies both reception wise and performance.

Unless it's a critical dud and MLP hurts its legs

The point is we don't live in anyone's perfect world (unless you're religious then maybe you think we do?) And if The Emoji Movie making 20 some odd million dollars on opening weekend is the biggest thing you've got to bitch about...

I mean yeah I think it would be cool if all of The Emoji Movie's money went to Apes or Baby Driver instead. But it ain't. People are dropping their cash on the emoji movie

Emoji is a movie for families. Is it hard for y'all to understand? They've probably already watched DM3 and WW or SMH. It's the only thing that's new out there so of course it'll make a pretty penny regardless of critics reviews. The complaining in here is annoying.

IndieWire: "Franchises have failed, while original stories have owned the summer box office."

Right, that's why the three top-grossing films (WW, GOTGv2, and SM:H) of the summer are part of huge cinematic franchises.

Why did you quote me LMAO. I'm all for it making this money (even of I won't ever see it)

However inaccurate this may be I'm cool with this narrative if it means we get more original movies
