I really just wish phrases like "Cancel Culture" and "Woke" would just be erased from existence because they've overstayed their welcome. And look, sometimes people need to be called out on their bullshit or otherwise problematic behaviors, it isn't always "cancel culture". Some people do get bent out of shape over trivial stuff but there are times I wish people wouldn't let certain things slide just because a person is famous or they don't care what happens in other people's lives.

There are some people who can separate the art from the artist and those that can't or don't want to; I can see the merit of both ways of thinking, but pulling out that "cancel culture" card whenever there's a controversy regarding a famous person is getting old at this point.

What else do we call it when enough people don't like you so they collectively try to cancel you and in some cases succeed? The irony of 'woke' culture in Hollywood is widely recognised to the point that the last Golden Globes is mainly remembered for the Ricky Gervais speech rather than its winners. It's far from outstayed it's welcome. I agree these terms are sometimes used out of context but erasing them from existence is suggesting they don't exist at all and we know that's not the case.

I won't let things slide for people because they're famous, if anything in life it's completely the opposite. The moment you are famous you're heavily scrutinised and are living under a microscope. James Gunn was almost fired for tweets he made before he ever knew he'd be famous.

As for the film I don't think Arnie Hammers presence will negative nor positively effect it's performance. He's arguably not a high profile name so it's not like people are going to read about his weird fetishes. If they have to get rid of Arnie Hammer, just hire the guy who played his brother in The Social Network

So now that things have settled down, it seems Hammer really just had kinky sex and drug addictions?

So just like every other person in the entertainment industry

I was looking for this thread, hopefully they will finally have a trailer next week attached to The King's Man. If not, would have serious doubts this even is released.

It could do well here in the UK if they market it. But I can’t imagine they’ll spend time or money doing that.

I want to see it though.

I love the trailer.  I think this might surprise if the reviews aren't a disaster.

Tempted to start a "Death on the Nile" over "Fantastic Beasts" club just to root for the underdog.  ...Anyone?  Anyone?  Bueller?
