They aren't alt right. They don't like the alt right either. They are somewhere in the middle because they'll attack the alt right too.

why are we even talking about them in the first place.  they're irrelevant.

To you they are but if these guys endlessly upload videos bashing TLJ that effects buzz and WOM  among the fanbase (which is huge).

If the movie was really good they wouldn't have a need to do this.  It would be a community of massive confirmation bias and their subscribers would support them in that.  There's quite literally no benefit to hate on something that 90% of people would (in theory) love.

For Star Wars? Big, but not huge. Probably still the 2nd largest market for TLJ, but don't expect the movie to make hundreds of millions there.

That is even optimistic for China, maybe it will not be in the top 5 market for TLJ this time.

Force awaken:

Domestic - 900+m

UK - 164m

China - 124m

Germany - 111m

Japan - 97m

France - 88m

Australia - 67m

If China drop to say around 60-70m, could go from 3rd market to 5-7.

Because if those audiences are talking about Star Wars, that explains the RT and Metacritic score since most of these channels are bashing it. And they aren't irrelevant. Major news outlets have mentioned them plenty and their growing fanbases. Some have even commented that the guy who does The Needle Drop (currently the most well known music reviewer online) used to run a channel like that.

It just feels odd for them to be going after this movie instead of real life non fiction stuff.

Industry estimates believe that over the six-day Wednesday-through-Christmas run that The Last Jedi will mint $110M, which will take its running domestic total to $371.8M.

Deadline estimates only $110m over the six-day period up to and including Christmas. Seems awfully low. Thoughts?

I don't know about any of those supposed youtubers or channels, but SW is American culture.  It permeates anything and everything and spans generations of casual film fans.  Makes sense that everyone would be talking about it and have an opinion.
