The fight hurt it afterwards as well? It didn't "only" gross 460mil total because of that fight. Face it, the word of mouth was only okay.

Have people disputed this? Fight had nothing to do with domestic total. But, did without doubt impact opening weekend domestic and Saturday's number. Probably flirts with just over/under $200 OW rather than $191 OW without the fight.

Evans and ScarJo have explicitly stated that they wanted them to be Work Spouses.  That was the dynamic everyone came up with on The Winter Soldier.  (Which is why the script flips the typical love interest and sidekick/best friend roles; Falcon is the love interest, Widow is the Best Friend/Sidekick).  What's so god-damn frustrating is Widow and Hawkeye were suppose to be together.  But Joss Whedon decided in AOU he wanted to show "that men and women could be friends" and forced BruceNat on on us -- instead of just having Widow/Hawkeye be dating and expand on Cap and Widow's friendship that was developed in TWS.

Felt Whedon didn't really take into account much of Phase 2 when making AoU. Felt like a straight sequel to Avengers.

He is. I am sure he gets a share of the profits.

His current contract is up in a year; you can bet he will get a massive payday for resigning with Dinsey. Other studios will make him offers but Disney will pay whatever it takes to keep him.

Imagine if Marvel’s biggest rival signed away Feige? Same way they did (well the comics division anyway) decades ago with Jack Kirby?

That's because he didn't.  He didn't care about anything except his characterization and projecting his emo-diary onto Ultron.

For sure anybody could have directed this and it would have made $200M+.

Still though quality wise I'm not sure how much better you could have made this film. So many things could have gone so easily wrong. Yeah Markus and McFeely deserve more credit than they get and it's not a surprise after Avengers 4 the writing duo are joining the Russo Brothers in their own studio.

IW has 4 writers, Markus, McFeely & The Russos who don't need the credits but they were there during the whole writing process.

Their four Marvel films were written like that FYI.

Opposite of the Russo Brothers according to how they interacted with the other Phase 3 directors and even had James Gunn write dialogue for the GOTG in Infinity War. And it shows

The reason phase 3 is on fire is because of the directors mostly.

Feige is Phil Jackson.

Coogler, Taika and the Russos are Pippen/Rodman/Jordan.

Notice how things progressed since Ike was booted from the chain of command by King Mickey.

My analogy is Feige = Stan Lee when he was editor of Marvel comics in the 1960s, overseeing that the universe is creatively running and cogs are in place and that every title/new characters have a unique gimmick/angle/purpose of creatively existing while trying to maintain that similar recognizable brand flavor.

I never wanted Cap and Widow to hook up. I hate this idea that men and women, women and women and men and men can never be just friends in fiction anymore. According to people on the interwebs, if two characters have a close relationship it has to lead to banging. Talk about a weird way to see relationships.
