So not one shot like it was rumored to be. Looks nice but not as interested as I was before.

Why do you say that? Because the trailer has multiple cuts? The trailer is not the film. In order to show different parts of the film in the space of 2 minutes it has to edit the film...

The cinematography in the trailer does give that sweeping effect like the revenant.

Very obvious shot reverse shots used here.

that's not difficult to pull off in a oner just because you didn't see the camera move in the trailer. idk maybe they actually do the one shot thing maybe they don't but the trailer didn't show us either way.

I think this looks better than Dunkirk

Not hard.

Though the Commanding officer having to throw in the incentive of saving his brother is eye rolling.  It's enough that it's an order to stave off a massacre.  Really, it's enough that it's an order.  It's the Army.

The framing would be quite different if the dialogue sequences were part of one long take and the positioning of the characters would be different too (they wouldn't be facing directly opposite each other). The camera is behind two characters and then in front of them in that sequence with Colin Firth and that happens twice in that same sequence. Hard to see that being achieved with one long shot.

They could have just reshot the sequence using a shot reverse shot just for the trailer but I don't see why they would do that.

I'm honestly thinking this will be more like The Revenant and Cuaron films than Birdman (will have sequences of long shots but the entire film will not create the illusion of being one long shot).
