FROZEN II WEEKEND THREAD | 130.26M OW | BLACK FRIDAY WEEK SALE: Gold Accounts 25% OFF | I like warm hugs and I cannot lie | No Knives Out Spoilers :)

Recommended Posts

This is a different ballpark than its predecessor. The first film was a limited release first, and then five days later was a wide release to theaters. This is a nationwide release first thing.

Frozen II is going to benefit definitely form this weekend, today will be just be pennies on what it will make in the long run probably.

Solid for Neighborhood. It should do $17-$19 million maybe $20 million. That will be a solid counter programmer for adults and yes even some families. This should probably do a Saving Mr Banks type of run.

One more thing...

Knives Out Friday night and Saturday night sneaks was a cold, cold act:).  What might have been spillover screens for sold out Frozen showings (at least tonight), could now be spillover screens for Knives Out...should be interesting to see Friday night develop (Saturday morning/afternoons are a certain positive:)...

“Moderator Voice”

The Tracking Thread has been forecasting low previews and a solid FSS for weeks. We are also in the week before a Thanksgiving Break.  With Thanksgiving being so late this year, most kids are still in school.  So none of this is shocking.

Ohh.  Time for the meltdowns.

Only comment about its previews that it was frontloaded. Even 2 days back I thought it will hit double digits. But it changed dramatically on wednesday and thursday when the jump was just not there.

Question is would OD ticket sales will be frontloaded as well or will walkins match at least TLK. Then its looking at very good OD.

TLK did not have great walkins for OD. It had a very strong ramp up beforehand and had great late sales and walkins for Thursday but then played like a CBM on actual OD.

Walk ins won't match TLK...TLK had a much higher African American audience %, and that % tends to be a lower prebuying audience...

TLK also predates the Regal subscription plan, so all those Regal folks couldn't prebuy...but they can now...

Was probably equal in the male/female breakdown, so that's one area they may match each other...

Yeah but TLK itself was just a naturally PS heavy film. The hyped live-action remakes tend to be, BATB was also very presale heavy for its day.
