Jumanji +235% 😲that's amazing

While great, its not unusual for family films this time of year. Jumanji 17 did around the same 2 years ago. Should also top 100% today as well if it behaves like normal.

What is nice is that the film should have no issues hitting 300m now.... the 5x multiple cap is coming up soon as well, probably another 2 weeks. It has literally played at the top of what it could do.

Also note that Doolittle is also over 200% - its normative behavior. (The other 2 family films, Frozen and Spies are animated and dealing with decent theater drops which offset their ability.)

Bad Boys is doing crazy well here today, Every show sofar has been sold out, only the 10pm show have seats left. It's having more sell outs than End Game with the astrix that it only has 10 showtimes instead of the 13 of End game. Still it got the biggest screens.

It has a shot at doing a top 10 opening weekend of all time, crazy crzazy.

EDIT: Btw just for clarification, I am from Belgium and those 10 showtimes is only in the biggest complex in Gent (a big city in Belgium). There are more than just 10 showtimes over the whole country :hahaha:

Knives Out once again has the best hold! $160m can still happen even with its home release on 2/25, but at least it will pass $150m today!! With Turning likely to drop 60%+ (assuming its no more than $6m) and Just Mercy dropping harder next weekend (due to lower PTA), it may have another week in the top 10, which it mark it to 10 consecutive weeks in the top 10! I would love for this to happen!!!!!

Bad Boys 4 Life is doing so awesome may have a shot at $200m if BOP doesn't kill it too much. 1917 held much better. $150m is still within reach while Jumanji may get to $300m after all.

Little Women is now a lock for $100m and may even reach it before Oscar Night!

Cats down only 11% from last Friday ;)

Fantastic for Knives Out. One of the best recent runs.

Cats is now in many second run theaters. That's probably what helped it hold well, but it still won't be enough to reach $30m, let alone TGS' gross.

KO is the highest grosser to not ever reach #1 since TGS!

The Gentlemen is doing gangbuster business in NYC today. Tons of early afternoon shows already near full.
Hoping it means a strong Sat/Sun number for it. With such a low theatre count, there is room for it to expand 400-500 theatres next weekend to soften the second weekend drop somewhat.

I love Belgium! I can't wait to go back when we travel to Europe again. I already miss Europe, stinky USA with their thousand dollar economy domestic flights for 2 people.

One good thing is you can churn credit cards to pay for it :D Probably will do 10 or so through this year then take a break.

The Gentlemen getting an 8-digit OW number is a fairly notable success. Hopefully word of mouth propels the film to minor hit status. If STX has a minor hit every once in a while, they might be able to stay in the game.

At least Universal as a studio isn't averse to repertoire screenings, Cats will get midnight showings for years to come.

A Star is Born made $215m and spent its first 4 weekends at #2. It might have been #1 on some weekdays, though IDK if people really count that. My Big Fat Greek Wedding probably topped the chart on some Tuesday but it was the Never #1 king for years and years.

Still, Knives Out is having a great run, I liked it a lot but wouldn't have expected the staying power to be this strong in our current "it can wait for streaming" climate.

Having a good laugh reading the Twitter comments about The Turning's ending.
