Apparently most of the trade info come from agents (some say 90% of what is written come from them, creating/manipulating the narrative for their clients). Sometime wanting to show their client are in demand, create some buzz around them and tell others they were offered/in talk for a movie or sometime like this case make employer know they are free to sign on something else.

He can't really drop out since he's Henry Allen in JL.

 

Might have to wait until we get official confirmation for this.

Interesting, considering Crudup just played it off in that press interview for Alien (for which he was obviously covering for "finding a director" rather than "Ezra's schedule").

 

But I predicted this way back when they lost Fumiyawa.  I wouldn't be surprised if they soft-reboot here...whenever the project goes ahead... recasting everyone, even if they keep Ezra.  Most filmmakers, especially ones like Zemeckis, have no interest in picking up someone else's laundry from last year...unless you're working for Marvel Studios.

I mean, I'm not doubting the info, but it just seems odd timing. They could CERTAINLY cut his scene in JL. And if the Flashpoint stuff happens, then they could definitely be wanting to go the Wally West route. They could still keep most of the cast in that scenario.
